Default 944 s2 engine overheating

hi,
iv just changed the oil and filter on my 944 s2 and now the engines started over heating.in think it might be the thermostat.any suggetions?the car runs well apart from this.

Check the coolant hose. look by the passenger headlight, the pump cuts the radiator hose. be very careful, heads warp easily.

you may want to post this on the main 944 board. a lot more traffic over there

Also post your location and year/model in your signature. Locals are known to come by and help newbies.

Yeah there are a few things you can check too. Check the thermostat out. Also, the fan relays and switches. Your fans might not be turning on to cool the engine down. Your thermoswitch might have gone bad too.

There are a bunch of little fixes en route to a faulty waterpump or radiator. (i know! i went through every single one!)

iv booked it in to a speciallist and they reckon its the head gasket.

The original type plastic impeller in the H2O pump is known to spin off it's rod. That's what happened to mine.
