What is a good price on a 944 cab/ (non)?
Hi,
Have been focusing on 911s till now, but notice
you can get so much more for you money if you
get a 944. What do y'all think about these? My
budget is right now is under 10k if possible.

Personally i would go for a late model ('85.5+) car. Its a matter of preference, but i personally like the later model interiors much more.
The S2 seems like a pretty fair price. The only worry i would have is the somewhat high mileage, but if the car has been properly maintained (Which it seems like it has) then that should not be a problem.
The '90 944 seems high to me, but im not too familar with the prices of the cabriolets.

Range can vary depending on mileage. I really researched mine and got it with 29K miles for $16K. Worth every penny and more... We went to Barrett Jackson yesterday and while pulling in with the top down we were constantly getting stared-at. 911's are all over the place, the 944 still has contemporary looks and is so rare that no one know's what it is. The only thing that really comes close to giving away it's age are the flip up lights.

If that Glacier Blue (is that what it is?) is in perfect running order and has its history, thats not really a bad price for it. A Perfect low mileage cab can go for $11k - 14k no problem. That would be my first choice. After 120k miles, the car should be pretty new again. All the big items should have been done once or twice. There's people here close to 300k miles with no real issues. Proper care is the key.
The cab is awesome in person, especially in the lighter metallic colors. People really dont recognize them too often. They are one of the best looking convertibles made. The cab is also said to be one of the best drivers in the 944 range. Apparently the way they reinforced/stiffened the body due to a lack of roof made the car handle really well. (only what ive heard from others)

Hi,
I paid $11.5K for mine 12 months ago. Had all receipts since new, plus original window sticker. 65K miles. Interior was extremely clean, paint is good driver quality, new tires, new belts & A.C. converted. Have put 6K miles on it in the year, and only had to change oil.
Very easy to drive because of all that torque. Will lug around 35 in 4th all over town, and still fast out on the road ( I've had it up to 135 with the top down). Also very little wind buffeting.
Get looks all the time, & have had many ask what it is 'cause it is so rare. I live in Orlando, Tampa, St. Pete area, and have seen fewer than 4 others in the past year. Very rare.
Don't belive you would be unhappy with one. Get a good one, they do come up every once and a while. I bought mine on ebay & had a good experience.

I've always liked the looks of the 944 Cab. I'd go with the lower mileage one if everything checks out. Definitely a good looking "top down" cab! Good luck with your search.

Umfan866,
Here's a new listing, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6435. If its truely everything he says, then it's a keeper. My be a little higer $$$'s, but this color is very rare & you won't be dissapointed in performance, value, & flash power.
