My '89 S2 is very easy on oil use, but if I get close to or bump the rev limiter at auto-x events it seems to use a noticeable amount. I remember some discussion about some part that goes bad and allows the vacuum at higher rpm to suck oil through the motor somehow?, anybody familiar w/ this issue?
It's a low mileage motor (75k ish), and I've heard of other similar cars using some extra oil at high rpms, so I doubt that it's just a worn out motor.

Hmm, perhaps simply due to the amount of air being sucked through the air/oil seperator at such high revs, the oil vapors don't have time to seperate, and are getting sucked into the intake?
It's a bit of a long shot.
Now, from what I have heard, it's quite normal for these cars to go through a bit of oil when they're being driven hard, especially at an auto-x event. I find mine goes through about 1L for every 10 or 12 runs. Then again, mine's a bit higher mileage.
