Default fuel pressure damper

i started smelling gas from the engine so i checked all lines in the engine that had to do with fuel. the lines were fine so i checked everything else fuelrail, injectors etc. the culprit is the fuel pressure damper i didnt know if fuel passed thru this so it seemed ackward but sure enough it's dripping gas from the underside of it .if this is right do i have to change the damper or is there a gasket and do i have to remove the whole fuel rail to change it.any sugestions would be greatly appreciated

You shouldnt have to remove the whole rail (4 bolts, not a big deal), but it would be easier. Check that short fuel line that runs to the damper, that is the line that was recalled due to leaks. There shouldnt be any gasket or washer in there. It may be the fitting on the end of the short fuel line is leaking where it attaches to the damper.
