Shamus & Joe: You guys were right! I just phoned my insurance guy, and glass chips are covered. They are replacing my glass this week. The winter temp change and all was a concern for any cracks to spread, so they thought it was important to get the glass replaced! Very cool. Thanks for your suggestions!

STOP. Scooter, if you force too much of the epoxy into the chip, it could shoot a crack across the entire windshield. Also there is no way some one who has never done this can do it with even 50% success. I work for a dealer in Portland and the guy we use is a real pro. He said about one in twenty still cracks on him and that is after about 15 years of doing it here in Portland Oregon where we use pea gravel on the roads in winter. Do yourself a favor…all of you, and consult a service that has done this for a while and see if they will fix it. If you pay even 50.00 to have it done right this is a lot less than a new windshield.
