300zx vs. rx7 vs. 944 vs. supra
If i had a 944 or 944 turbo out on the highway and I happen to pull alongside a 95 nissan 300zx, a 95 mazda rx7, and a 95 supra, who should have the bragging rights? Basically I just wanna burn people on windier roads. Which car would beat all the others?

A stock 944T should beat a stock non-turbo 300zx in most any circumstance (200hp?, but quite heavy). The other two and a 300turbo are pretty tough cars. I think you'd be bringing up the rear. So many of the supras and 300turbos are modded now, and they get some really-really big hp numbers.

Pupras with the large numbers are drag cars. They don't drive like a sports car, more GT styling. The rex is debatable, they pull about the same numbers if I am not mistaken, but a 944turbo would handle better with the 50/50 distribution. I dunno about the 300zx though, never seen or driven one. just my 2 cents

I bet you can cruise a lot more comfortably at 150mph all day long while those struggle up there! 944s are NOT drag cars. Remember as well, you are comparing 70s technology with cars made in the 90s. If you compared the 944 with hondas and nissans from the same year, i bet the 944 would have an advantage. Especially the Turbo-S.

My buddy has a 91 300Zx since new, I had first and second gen RX7s, and had two 944 S2s.
For pulling up at say 70 mph on the highway and flogging it, i would rather have my Z28 over what I mentioned. For a twisty mountain road, well, that depends on the tires.

I've driven everyone of those except the 300ZX turbo (but I have driven the N/A). The twin turbo Supras are just scary fast, the third generation RX-7 wasn't as fast as I was expecting, but still faster on paper then the 944T. Of course, these cars are almost ten years newer than a 944, if you want to compare like years and similar engines (I.E. apples to apples) you'll see that Porsche is always superior.
