Default $190 "saratoga top" from JC Whitney for Porsche 944

Hey all,
I've been interested in buying a saratoga top for my 83 porsche 944 for quite some time now but have not happened across one. I did however come across this glass sunroof made by JC Whitney for only $190!

Its not powered, but thats no problem for me considering my 83' doesnt even have that option. Does anyone know anything about these, specifically how well they fit? It is described as a "17" x 35" Glass Sunroof", a bit smaller than stock (perhaps because of the plastic trim?) so I'm a bit weary of buying. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob

Don't put that in your 944! It is not designed to fit our cars, it's meant for cars that don't have a sunroof panel and you have to cut the hole in their roof to mount it.

Saratogas show up on the main forum here and on ebay from time to time. I just sold a new, old-stock one for an early car like yours. It was never used, still in the box. Sold it for $450. Hope that gives you a good idea on price.

You would want the early type, as the later one is for power roof cars.

There is a website that sells saratoga tops new specifically for 944/968's. I am not sure if they have one for the early cars but I think the website is something like toysforyourtoyz.com or something along those lines.

I would stay away from ToysForYourToys, i dont think anyone has ever actually recieved a saratoga top from them, or seen one to date. Do a search on the name, and you will come up with a ton of posts regarding why you should stay away from them. The best place too look for a Saratoga top is Ebay and the forums. Ebay tends to get VERY expensive, upwards of $500. If your patient enough they show up about once a month. Looking around on Rennlist for one seems to be the best option as you dont always need to pay such a huge premium for them with bidding wars.
