944 tire question 225/60/15
Hi I have a 1985 944. It’s just a car I like to have fun with. I have some koni shocks and that’s about it. I love to haul in the car but I want some new tires.
First question: Will 225/60/15 fit all corners?
Second: What’s the best grip 225/60/15 tire? (I know there is many options for 225/50/15 but I like the original big sidewall look)

Read the tire rack reviews and pay attention to treadwear rating. 200 and under treadwear is the stickiest (and fastest wearing) you can get and is mainly used in autox or other performance driving. The next tier is the 200-500tw category which are your summer tires and a good compromise tire if you want to have a good performance wet/dry summer only tire. I would recommend the Continental Extreme Contact Sports which are a 340 TW tire and good all around performance/street tire, but there are many others and again, recommend you read the Tirerack testing reviews (thats what I do).
Does 225/60 fit? Yes on an 8" wide wheel but on a 7" I might go to a 205/65. A 225 on an 7" wheel (especially with a 60 sidewall instead of 50) can have a bulgy look but this is highly subjective. Some cars come with 7" wheels all around, others have rear 8" wheels and 7" on the front, so your particular situation and the tire size you should run is dependent on your wheel setup.

I had 225/60 on my cookie cutters for a little while. They looked a little pudgy, and they were pretty squishy in the bends also.
And if I remember correctly, options in that size are limited to economy tires, nothing particularly sporting.
