First time Porsche owner, I’ve managed to figure all the features and functionality out (including removing the sunroof), EXCEPT for the hatch cover. I’ve got excessive slack in mine when it’s clipped onto the clips…looks like someone pulled it a little too far out once upon a time. Does anyone know how to remove the extra slack and get the cover “to retract or roll back a few”?

I had done this at one time - if I remember correctly, the spring has to be retensioned. I believe it requires disassembly to get this done.

If you havent found it already I would highly recommend bookmarking and reading through Clarks Garage - its one of the best knowledge bases for the 944. Reading through the entirety of the shop manual section will greatly expand your familiarity and knowledge of the various aspects of the 944. They even have a section on cargo cover repair. So again, look there first for any questions or information you may seek before coming to the forums - likely its been covered already
