Obviously I have made no attempt at cleaning these. I was thinking $250 for the rear set, and $250 for each front seat, that way if you can find a single seat in better condition you don't have to buy both of mine. Also to note, the passanger side seat rail has an issue near the rear bolt hole where it looks like the previous owner was unable to remove the bolt but you can buy new rails realtively inexpensive.

The inside seat belt anchor point design of the 968 (and late 944 models) utilizes the seat frame assembly to transfer the potential seat belt load to the chassis.
The early seat design is not part of the seat belt anchoring system. What this means is that with an early seat installed, the 968 chassis will have no inner seat belt mounting point.

I believe the seat belt anchor design change was implemented in the 85.2, oval dash change. The 924S maintained the early 944 seat design with the addition of a secondary rail locking mechanism.
I'd be interested to see a photo of the tunnel mounted anchor point on your 88 944 as I don't know that I've seen such an example, you never know with Porsche though.

Now that brings up an interesting thought, why would it be better to be strapped to the seat vs the tunnel? Maybe more prone to bolt shear on the tunnel?

Gage, you were right, my 88 has the seatbelts attached to the seat lower. I stand corrected and learned something new today. Thanks Gage!
That's one of the things that make these cars so interesting, there is always something new to learn.

I just listed a somewhat decent set on Craigslist.... but in Vancouver.
These have the rail mounted seat belt receptacles.
Here is the ad: https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...769472438.html
The seats have SOLD. Local buyer with a 944.
