944s Stalling with heavy deceleration
Hello all, new to posting, but been observing for a while.I have a 1988 944S (16v) with a new, to me, problem. Looking for advice.Sorry for length of post in advance.
I have a stalling issue. It only happens once the car is warm and only occurs after heavy deceleration, such as over. 3k rpm, going down a hill , come to a stop sign...push in clutch rpm drops below 500, will stall, sometimes corrects itself. Car runs very well otherwise, no other symptoms. If a stall, starts right back up hot or cold.
Fuel pressure good at 48 psi, and steady, and retains it well over 20 mins when shutdown
Vacuum 15 in Hg at idle
Fuel regulator replaced, just in case it was a simple issue.
DME relay replaced
ICV/ISV opens, closes easily and sharply when applying 9v
AFM /MAF cleaned , no change
I have no TPS ohm/ continuity measurement at DME harness, neither idle position nor WOT position
My current thought is TPS. However to get at it on the 944s, it looks like intake has to come off...grrr
Open to suggestions and if the throttle body can be removed without pulling intake, please describe. Access to it is very limited.
Thanks in advance.
