Default Shifter replacement

Hello,

The shifter on my 200 000+ Km 944 is really loose. I believe I will need to change it.

While looking for a replacement part, I saw that there is one company offering a replacement with a bolt and bearings instead of the normal “pin”. Is it worth it? I can understand that on the long run it might prevent wear, but I don’t know if I should give the extra money.

Any opinion/advice?

thanks

Martin

The factory shift lever works fine and is what I use (replaced once) in my own car. What wears is the clevis-type pin connecting it to the long front-to-back shift rod, and the nylon bushing at the lever's base. Replace that bushing as well.
