Default Fuel Hard Line help

Hi all I'm new to the forum and new to Porsches, recently I bought a 1988 944S. I've enjoyed the car so far however due to very unfortunate circumstances the hard fuel lines running to the tank have been damaged and need repairing/replacing (see attached photos). I wanted to ask ya'll what my best options are, my gut tells me I'm going to have to replace the entirety of the hard line which from what I've read isn't the most fun and that I'd likely have to bend my own new lines since they don't appear to be available pre-configured.

The gremlins in my mind tell me I might be able to just remove the bad section and run braided stainless to the fuel filter but I wanted some input on how awful an idea that is.

I unfortunately haven't had the car for very long and am rather distraught about this so any help in getting this fixed is greatly appreciated.

Here is the best guide I have found. It includes guides on not only redoing the hard lines, but also all the AN connectors and adapters you will need to convert the soft lines over as well. Hopefully its all the info you will need.

One note is the lines on the engine side are slightly different on a 16V than on the 8V turbos, so keep that in mind. I think the fuel rail connections are the same though. On the 16v cars you dont need to cut the hard lines coming into the engine bay in the fender well (as shown on the above website), those have thankfully already been converted to threaded connectors in those later model cars.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply, looks like I know what I'm doing the next week or two, was already going to put the car on jacks so I could do the clutch slave cylinder.

You may want to check with Porsche fuel line expert Len Cummings. len.cummings@verizon.net
Don't know if he makes 944 lines, but worth a shot.
