87 944 Turbo no start
My 87 944 Turbo cranks but does not start. If I jump the DME relay it stars and runs. Tried a new Porsche factory DME relay and it does not start. Any thoughts on what may be happening or the cause?

Test the new relay using the following procedure:

If the relay fails the test, you have a bad relay - return it and buy a solid state relay from F9tech
If the relay passes the test, you could have an intermittent issue with the ignition switch, or intermittent issue with the relay. These analog relays are old and prone to failure (even new ones may have been sitting for many years). Successfully jumpering the relay usually indicates a problem with the relay or ignition switch. Jumpering the relay also bypasses the ignition switch 12V signal, which is why thats the next thing to check (also why the fuel pump runs constant even with the engine off, while jumpered).
