Default 1986 944 Sunroof slip clutch

Hey folks. So my 1986 944 sunroof has been out of service for a while; I just tracked the problem down to Limit Switch 1, which I replaced. The sunroof motor now whirs when I press the console switch forward and backward.

Now, I have an early style sunroof (pre-Feb 1986) but a late style car with updated interior (post-1985.5). So Clark's slip clutch adjustment method does not work since I don't have an auxiliary fuse panel. I screwed the adjusting screw in until it comes in contact with the mounting surface, and the locknut is in the same position as it's always been, approx 2.5mm as Clark suggests. Still, the sunroof motor just whirs and the retracting arms do not move.

Anyone have any tips on this step? Thanks

Put your ammeter across whatever fuse is for the sunroof.

According to the wiring diagram, that would be fuse #1 (a 25 amp fuse).
