944 Turbo Thoughts
Hey all,
Ive been thinking about picking up a 944 turbo as a first project porsche, but honestly dont know if that is the best model to cut my teeth on.
I have a mechanic friend who can help with any heavy lifting, but I'm hoping to do most of the work myself.
Does anyone have a view if this is a good idea, and any tips/advice for a novice like me.
Cheers,

May be best to post this question in the 944 Turbo section...
But... as with any older car, it is challenging locating an unmolested turbo today. And, even if you do, that still doesn't mean you will come across a myriad of issues/problems.
The turbo version does add complexities, but is still quite basic compared to today's standards. Also, the parts supply is dwindling, with a number of replacement parts being 'no longer available.' And, when you can find those parts, be prepared to pony up the $$.
So... if you have the desire, abilities, and finances, I say go for it.
