Guys, I am working on the trunk of my 90 cabrio and the interior carpet is a mess. Specifically I need pictures and/or explanation of how the side carpets are adhered or held in place where the rubber weather seal is. My carpets are hanging down and I can’t really understand how they were held in along the upper edge. Any help out there?

I think I figured it out. There must have been “hem tape” sewn onto the upper edge of the carpet and that the fabic was folded over and glued onto the metal lip that the seal sits on.

Can anyone confirm?

Are you talking about the carpet along the lower foot rails/door sills? The carpet on my S2 coupe is pinched by the plastic weather stripping and held secure that way. Maybe post a pic so we can see what your issue is and better understand the location, and I can post a corresponding pic from my car

No, I am actually referring to in the trunk. Thereis a weather seal that wraps around the lip. The carpet somehow is held in place by the seal.
