Default 83 944 drivetrain issues

Hey, I was driving my 83 944 home from school today when something in my drivetrain broke out of nowhere. I was driving pretty slow in second and something in my drivetrain started to rattle. Now none of the gears will work and there is a rattle when i let off the clutch. Clutch and shifter still feel normal and it shouldn't be the clutch worn out because It felt strong just this morning. If anybody has an idea of what this could be I'd really appreciate it. Also if there is any additional info i should add to let me know and i will do so. Thanks for any help!

Do you know if it's the original clutch? Those were rubber centered and the rubber tends to give up the ghost, at some point. You can usually see if there are chunks of rubber through the inspection hole in the bell housing.

The other thing that can happen is that the clutch fork breaks. I don't know if something broke while you were shifting, or not, but both of these possibilities can be investigated with a boroscope very easily, if you have one, or just by eye less easily.

If those parts look like they're OK, take a look at the master and slave cylinders, and the lines running to/from them.

Good luck

Yeah , good chance it's a rubber centered clutch disc that just expired. The 944 gearboxes are pretty solid units and unless you try to do
burnouts at every street corner they are pretty much trouble free.

Cheers
