944S2 cooling fan turning on and off repeatedly
Hi all, thanks for all the advice I've gained from the Rennlist user base over the years trouble solving issues. I recently acquired my dad's 1989 944 S2, and still sorting a couple items out, but wanted to bounce these off you all.
1) The cooling fan for the radiator seems to turn on very quickly, and then tends to cycle itself (turning on and the off) in repeat after every 5-7 secs. It does prevent it from overheating, and generally keeps it mid-range, but seems to make a ton more noise and cycling than if it ran a bit more and then stayed off longer. I think it is too loud when not above 3,000 to be normal with the constant cycling. I found this on Pelican parts, but it didn't seem to have the conclusion on the resolution: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...s-off-off.html
So if Zman is still out there, hook me up!
2) I had the electrical bug-a-boo thing with the Fuel sensor reading 3/4 when full and oil light and pressure gage "stuck". It also made my check oil light go off. I did the pelican part fix, mostly cleaning all the dash points. That helped some, the fuel gauge is reading mostly better, and the oil pressure mostly is fixed, but the ! oil light still occasionally comes on after driving. I've checked and oil level is fine and it doesn't leak any oil. And it normally doesn't light up again next time I drive it. Any other thoughts or fixes? Thanks!,

See https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...l#post17514358 for the cooling fan issue.
Oil light: try cleaning the connection at the sensor (it will have two wires: one for the gauge and one for the trouble light -- or at least the earlier cars do). There's also a junction box on the bulkhead that it passes through which might need cleaning.
