Default 944 NA (86) - problem when I decelerate

hello guys,
I write you for a problem with my 944 when I drive, i need help.

When i release accelerator my car give me one shot. At this moment the fuel economy gauge display 60 MPG. If I touch accelerator, a new shot and fuel economy return to 20 MPG.
If I deconnect TPS, no shot ! But the idle is at 1500-1800 rpm.
TPS is new and correctly set (contact when I touch lite accelerator).

I understood that DME shut down injector when motor < 1500 rpm if i don't touch accelerator. It's correct ?
Why car give one shot ?

Sorry for my english, I'm french.

"Shot" equals "backfire"?

No backfire.
"Shot" it's same of big engine brake. It's only one time when I don't touch accelerator, after engine has good idle.

I think that would normally translate to "stumble". It's a known issue on US cars, but I thought only US cars. Any chance your car has a US-spec DME in it?

Yes it's US car (150 HP).
I think that's California model because i have a altimeter (same that japan model).

There's a lot of info on that problem, but being in a market supplied by UK-spec cars I haven't paid much attention to it. I *think* the fix is to put a later DME in it, but I don't know what constitutes "later" in this context....

If no one else comes along with some advice, try googling "stumble" with the google search set to this website.
