Sunroof
I just bought all new Sunroof parts for my 85 944. I also changed the Gears just so I know there are all new parts in the roof. My problem is this. When I have the roof down and I close the door, the back of my roof pops up from air pressure inside the car. Why is the rear of the Sunroof NOT LOCKING DOWN? Is there a video out there showing the correct insulation?

Is the "auto-lock" not working?
When I re-install the roof after having it off, the arms rise as I pull away. There is a sensor in the front that tells the car the roof is in. The little bent triangle on the sunroof may not be pushing it?
In any case, something is telling those arms to retract

Dan, I checked my switch and it seems that everything is working correctly. The problem is the pin that extends from the side of the lifting arm is NOT going in the Grove on either side. It just lifts the roof and won't lock it down when closed.

Hmm.. I've never really paid attention to exactly how those arms engage the roof; it does seem funny that they just go up & down yet at some point "lock" the roof.
If your arms stay in the park position (extended into the roof but not lifting) when ignition is ON (engine running) then maybe your situation a matter of alignment?
Hopefully a sunroof expert chimes in!

Have you checked Clark’s garage website. I had similar issues which after several attempts at timing the gears, cables and switches everything started to work as it should (late model)

Sounds like the "banana" arms were not in the the right position when you installed them after changing the stripped gears. I think what is happening is the arms are retracting all the way, freeing the sunroof, versus only part of the way, which is the hold down position. Getting this right can be a PITA.
