Default 944 s2 speedometer

I'm the new owner of a 944 s2 cabrio year model 1990.I'had imported the car from USA and the speedometer is in MPH. Who can help with a answer to a simple question? the 944 s2 does it have a mechanical or electronic speedometer?

The early 944's have a conventional speedometer cable going from the drivers side front wheel hub to the rear of the speedometer housing in the dash. The square drive end of the cable extends through the back of the spindle; then through a square hole in the grease cap of the left front wheel, where it is held in place by a small c-clip. It is visible if you remove the left front wheel or the wheel center cap.

All 85.5's and newer models all have an electronic sensor screwed into the transaxle.
