Question Bonnet Release

Hi, my dad owns a 1983 Porsche 944 (Right Hand Drive) and we cannot seem to find the bonnet release catch. If there is not a release valve there can anyone also help me with opening the bonnet manually.

Thank you
P Lucas

on left hand drives, the bonnet release is a lever mounted just in front of the door pillar and underneath the dash

So you are saying there is no lever mounted on the right side in front of the door pillar and just underneath the dash

I'm pretty sure it is still on the left side of the car, even on the RHD models. Open the passenger door, stick your head in the footwell and look for a lever on the side. Helps to have a flashlight (torch).

Lightbulb Thankyou

Hi all

Thank you for your responses. We got a mechanic to look at it and we found that the actual cable had been snapped and had been ripped out so we got a screwdriver and it opened.

Thank you again

the 968 has a reserve or secondary cable behind the front fog/aux lamp assembly for the bonnet. you might see if your vintage has one also.
