Headlight Washer Hose Issue
Guys,
The issue.
My passenger side feed tube (29) has disconnected from valve (31). The valve sits fore to the HVAC dryer unit.
I can't see how I'm going to mitigate this without taking the nose off.
Please tell me there's something I don't appreciate.
Thanks in Advance
Craig

Sorry Craig I can't help on this but interested to know also.
Strange coincidence, I was just searching five minutes ago on the washer system as my car front driver's side washer is leaking...
Check valve maybe?

Bertrand,
Your leak is going to be at the attachment of the hose to the nozzle. I had this a while back and was a slight PITA to re-attach, but it is straightforward. There is only one line on the driver's side. A straightforward leak on the passenger side is at the hose to nozzle. These leaks are remedied through the wheel well with headlights up. The not so straightforward leak on the passenger side is what I have.
Because everything MUST work the way it did when it rolled of the line in December 1986, I think I'm just going to construct new lines to each nozzle. Accessing this existing valve (31) to re-attach is I think impossible unless the nose comes off, and I'm not willing to do that.
What I'm going to do is 'splice' into the common feed hose in the passenger well, run through hole for the headlight power lines, feed across to driver's side behind the the flaps/ in front of radiator, and through same body hole for wires. I will have to configure and brace this hose in such a way to be clear of headlight movement. Using a smaller gauge hose will be helpful I think.
A question for the Wise Ones - 1. Is a valve really necessary? (Probably) 2. If so, what generic valve should I look for ?

The wider end of the hose connector goes into the hose, and was clamped with the spring clamp. The smaller end is what fits into the valve, and this was free floating.
The only thing I can think of to have caused this was some very 'heavy' driving with extremely hard cornering I did two days ago. Recent work to same area is not an issue as nothing is there, and it wouldn't be possible anyway.
Is a shame for if not for locale, would be a nothing fix.

If I understand correctly, the junction you're talking about sits right on top of the upper surface of the aluminum bumper channel, the bumper cover would definitely have to come off to get to it.

Yep Rob, that's it. Not going to do that, and likely run into some unforeseen complication and be out of commission for my short driving season. Going to re-route. Still curious about the valve though.

The driver's side hose and check valve are not attached in that pic, sorry for the confusion. Here's a shot of the hoses as they are found when the bumper cover comes off, at least for '90 GT:

I replaced my bumper cover last winter, and had to mess with these hoses. The stock spring clips were a challenge. Is there a special tool for opening them up? They defeated a variety of pliers and methods, but I think I eventually coaxed the hoses back onto the nipples. It's all very substantial - the hose diameter, the nylon reinforcement, the clips - all for something I don't need.

Similar issue with my 80MY , I;ll describe it US style , ie looking from front, Left washer works, and Right side water trickles down from the top of the bumper foglight ie nothing out of the bumper jet ?
