Black can change a little, depending on the light...

I wonder, if this is a former Porsche Werkswagen - it looks familiar. I have once seen a black 928 with mint interior in Stuttgart, but somehow I think it was befor 1992 (I am not sure). IT was said that one of the designers was driving a 928 in that color combo. I thought it was Anatole Lapine, but to the best of my knowledge he left some time in the 80ies.

If I had to choose, I like Anders' car much better - as long as it does not have a supercharger or other molestations done to it...

Nicole, do you have any contacts at Porsche?

I'm trying to figure out some history about my car but haven't yet gotten any replies from Porsche in Germany when asking about my car.

It would be interesting to find out who has used it at Porsche.

Anders,
Your 928's history is very unique. How did you come to purchase a Porsche Werkswagen? Please share your story or, point me and older thread where you related it to the Forum.
Best regards,
Tim

I'm not sure if the history is unique in a special way.

It was a company car between 1991-07 and 1993-04 (if I recall correctly) and then bought by a Lady from the Raffay Porsche Center in Hamburg with 35.000 km's on the ODO. I bought it from her this summer since she was moving to some North African country, can't really recall where (have it written down), when I bought it it had 63.000 km's on the ODO and it now has 67.800 (today).

The thread I posted the day after the purchase is here:

The search is over!

When I was looking for a 928 I wanted a car in good condition and would prefer one with manual transmission and sport seats. The number of km's didn't matter to much but the service history and number of owner (preferably low) were and are important to me when I look at cars.

The add didn't actually say that it was a two owner car and only one of them after Porsche. It simply said that it was a 928 that was lady driven, had a few pics and basic info.

I had looked at 10 other 928's before and only two of them had I considered to buy, one I was unsure about and the other one (red GT '89 one owner, 37.000 km's) was to expensive for my budget. I think it's still for sale.

That the car was a werkswagen and with as good history and well equipped as it is was a real surprise that I didn't figure out until I saw it.

At that point I had seen enough wrecks and heard enough lies over the phone to decide that what was said over the phone didn't matter most of the time.

I've actully considered selling it this spring to find an early (cheaper) manual S4 to supercharge and mod the hell out of this summer but I really don't want to let this car go into the wrong hands. If someone who is an enthousiast shows interest and gives a fair offer I'd consider selling it.

Cheers!

Hello Anders,

Thanks for the fascinating details about the somewhat unique history of your 928. I wish I was in an easy position to purchase (and import) your car as it would be kind of neat to own a 928 that was "lucky" enough to have served as a werkswagen for the factory. However, with that said, do let me/us know when you plan to sell it and your asking price. Feel free to PM me as well with details.
Best regards,
Tim

Tuk:

Well.. As I said I would consider selling it to someone who really wants it and makes a fair offer since I'm a bit hesitant to start modding it.. Would probably feel better about myself if I did that to a car with ratty interior since it would be the first to go to make it go fast. I believe very hard in the statment "to increase performance - add lightness" so it's kind of wierd that I'm owning a 928 in the first place.. Hehe.. These cars sure are addicitive..

And don't put to much value into that it's been a company car, It's a nice thing but I don't think that it makes to big of a difference when it comes to value.

Anders: Sorry, but I don't have any active contacts to people involved in the Werkswagen program. Not sure, if they'd remember the car or still have records about it...
