Default Brake Booster check valve.

So I've been reading many comments on the correct orientation of how the one way check valve sits in the booster, so here is my question how does it sit in the booster, is the small vacuum line up, down or sideways, or does that even matter.?

I don't think it matters. That side arm connects to the small blue check valve that then connects to a 3 or 4 way connector for the HVAC system. Just orient for ease of connection.
Good luck,
Dave

Dear Mrs Pencer:

PLEASE put the year of your car in every post.

Option: Pop the <$20 membership fee, and put that info plus your location in a signature line and in your ID on the left.

Thank You.

-------

On my car (1989 per sig line...) the little nipple on the booster check valve points up and right (towards passenger side on US cars) towards the little check valve.

Like said it doesn't matter, however I usually place it down and toward the fender if there is enough vacuum line, out of the way so it doesn't get broken off when reaching in there.

What you working on?

my 85 s3, 5spd, come to find out that I've been chasing my tail just installed rebuilt booster, pedal still hard not grabbing, so I replaced everything vacuum related ,as per my check valve question, come to find out they didn't get something right with the booster rebuild, so have another being sent under warranty.

Looked again at my later car, and see that the little nipple for the aux vacuum connection is straight up, rather than tilted to the right as previously stated.

A brake booster is not on my list of "rebuilt things that weren't correctly rebuilt". Stay with it!
