Default German supercharged 928 engine

This was supposedly made by a company calledl "Albrexx" (I'm not familar with them) way back when, and is in the process of being overhauled.

Before anyone here gets too excited:

Someone in another thread on this board posted there is no known 928 supercharged engine in Germany that lasted more than 20,000km (12,500 miles) without major problems...

Didn't Lotec have a SC kit for the 928 as well? 470 hp on the S4 if I recall correctly.

Just because 'someone' posts 'something' on this board (..or any board for that matter) doesn't mean it's necessarily true. How would this 'someone' be aware of this supposed 'fact'? Does this 'someone' have intimate knowledge of every supercharger install in Germany and has kept detailed records on them? Are there any dyno sheets on these German supercharged 928's?

Alright, let's suppose for an instant that all of the above were true. What that tells me is that Germany is much better at turbocharger installations than supercharger ones; but that doesn't mean that they set any precedence for the rest of the world regarding superchargers and 928's.

Thomas Edison while perfecting the light bulb was continually 'advised' by people with interest in the threatened gas and oil companies of the time that the light bulb is a BAD idea, and certainly doomed to failure. The rest, as they say, is history.

The names and companies have changed countless times over the years, but the story remains the same and is applicable, even within our small 928 community.

My stock engine with added turbos went 20 years and 40,000 miles without issue, but it was not run hard.

Maybe they should be buying their supercharger kits from here instead of Austria then. (Albrexx is in Austria) There are supercharged 928s here that have gone significantly longer than 12,500 miles with no major problems.

Theres a car just down the road from me that has an Albrex SC on it. One of these days it will go on the dyno.
