Strange Rattle after Timing Belt (Clutch??)

After completing my timing belt project (Which required removal of the clutch slave cylinder) and motor mounts (which required me to use a lift to raise the engine block), I got the car back together and started it up. When running it, I heard this knocking/rattling sound. I had a heck of a time trying to locate the source, but I noticed that the heavy metallic rattle was coming from under the car.
Tonight I put the car on jack stands and started the engine (I know, Scary!!!!). I was NOT going to climb under the car with the engine running but it did sounds like it was coming from the back of the engine. With the engine running, I climbed into the car and pressed the clutch. As soon as I put pressure on the clutch, the sound stopped. I can't tell if maybe the issue is with the clutch slave cylinder, flywheel or something else.
I am hesitant to climb under the car with the engine running, so I thought I'd seek the collective wisdom of the forums. Below are photos of the clutch slave cyclinder.

Upper clutch arm ball cup has disintegrated would be my guess.

you should consider a Greg Brown flex hose for the slave cylinder
