1990 928 s4 sudden rough idle and no power
Hi
car was running fine driving it every day
left it for two days then went to start it
started on the button as usual revs to to 2 k then goes down to very rough idle dropping down to few 100 rpm. Barely stays running then dies after about a min
pressing throttle no response ! Just kills it quicker
if blip it something's can get it to rev a bit but just dies
starts every time but does same thing
got plenty of fuel and spark checked 1.5l after 30secs
any ideas ? Thinking maf ? Gonna unplug it and see if anything changes next
cheers for any insights !

simple things, what was the last thing that got fixed? did the car get wet?
remove coil wires and inspect for corrosion on the ends,
make sure the coil wires are not touching any part of the run.
Pull vacuum line off of front damper smell for fuel if fuel then investigate other 2, damper and FPR
check battery teminals and ground point for corrosion.
Observe the relay with the clear cover on the computer mount, is a red or green LED illuminated?

Unplug the computers and re-seat them. There could be some corrosion built up. If you have access to DeOxit this would be a good time to apply it to the connector.

No I take refresh
Car had just turned 70k miles
Was running perfectly until this
I haven't replaced temp 2 but even if it had failed I wud expect it to at least run ??

So, have you re-seated the computer connectors? Sitting in damp weather might be cause of corrosion.

Vacuum leak. I was doing some testing with a Mityvac and ripped my old dried out 4 way and the car started stalling at stop lights and running weak. Pull the line off the check valve and put a Mityvac on it and see if it will hold a vacuum.
