Default 928 Dashboard -NOS

Visiting my in-laws in Jacksonville, NC this past week and today, I visited an auto salvage yard.......East Coast Imports on Gum Branch Rd. He has 4 earlier 928 cars in his yard. Talking with the owner, he has a NEW in box, 928 dashboard. I'm not familiar with a 928's dashboard (I'm a 944 owner). I looked at it in the box in his garage (dark lighting conditions). He wants me to make him an offer. Is the dashboard part # normally on the part? This part is not in a Porsche box with label. Without proper lighting, I couldn't tell on the color or see a part #. Are earlier dashboards covered in vinyl, leather, other? What would an early NOS dashboard go for?

I'm leaving my in-laws on Sunday AM. They are open tomorrow, Saturday from 9AM - 4PM. Deciding if I should pursue this for the enthusiast wanting to restore their 928

Offer him $100, and I'll buy it from you, assuming it's decent.
Thank you.

Hell yeah pick it up. I'm not sure what it would go for, but a NOS dash should carry a pretty nice premium.

Make sure it's not just a hard shell cover.

I've paid $1000 for NOS vinyl dash. Try to find another one.
There were both vinyl and leather. Leather is less rare because it's easy to reupholster.
Cork, brown, and green are hard to come by. Black is most common.

I would be interested if you bring it or mail it home. I'm only ~20-25 min from New London PA.

Default UPDATE: Dashboard NOS Saturday 9-9-2017

I went back to East Coast Imports, asked to take some pictures of this dash in the sunlight. First of all, I was wrong about the box. It's a Porsche box. There is a Porsche label with part # on the box. Part # is 928 552 023 08 1MX. When I researched this part # on the Porsche parts catalog, its a 87-91 dash with 1MX as Mahogany. However, the part in the box looks like Cork. I looked over the entire dash and is flawless. Here's some pictures...I have more in higher resolution if you email me. I offer the owner $400 he wants more.......so I didn't purchase it. Thinking he wants $700 min. He takes credit cards and will ship. Warren Royster at 910-324-2158.....Mon - Fri 8-7pm and Sat 10-4

In addition to the dash, East Coast Imports has 4 928 cars in his yard. I saw a 928 engine (early car, 2-valve engine), dish wheels. The owner indicated he had an Euro body.

Decent price if that's the dash you need.

Unfortunately, it's not for my car.
