Locations for pesky ground problems?
Well, looks like it's my time to find and clean all my grounds!
The car, a 1987 S4 auto, is behaving perfectly, but just today the dash started lighting up and flickering every possible warning light off and on with no obvious affect to the running of the car. It only seems to happen at idle or deceleration. It goes away when enough throttle is applied that i suspect the g-force holds the connection in place better.
Since this is my first time hunting through the car for grounds, where are the places people have found to be the most common sites for foul play? Are there any particular hidden, uncommon spots too?
Many thanks!

Lots of good information in the sticky thread for New Visitors. Here is the link to the post on ground points:

There is a long narrow dual inline cable connector set that buses signal/illumination to the dash. It's located just under the dash, covered by the plastic "chin" trim near the proximity of the pod elevation lever. Disconnect the dual in line connector halves and spray both with deoxit. This has solved similar problems a couple times in the last 10 years. And yes, you should clean your grounds.

Thanks again for all the feed back guys! I will finally be cleaning those ground points as soon as I replace this alternator... car died on the way to work. That explains why she was OK if the rpms were high. Doh!
