How can I test if the wiper motor is good??
Hello
Having trouble with the REAR wiper motor and its operation on my '84 Euro ....Checked the fuse #9 (rear wipe operation) and fuse #15 (rear wiper return) and both are good and hot (+12V all the time)....The rear wiper switch is good (tested it on another car) and the relay is also good...
The motor is not moving when depressing the wiper switch....I bought another used wiper motor and I got the same results. How can I test the motor itself by bypassing the switch??
Is there a way to test the relay as well??
Thanks - VK

Is the wiper arm mechanism in the hatch free to move (by hand) with the hatch up? ie., no binding. Secondly, when closing the hatch, with the wiper arm to the left 'park' position, is the driving plate of the motor correctly engaging the hatch side plate?
A fused jumper wire @+12v into the green/black (1.5mm) wire w. the brown to ground should get a kick out of your motor - try it first on your spare.
Relay -- 12 volts across # 85/86 should yield a 'click' plus continuity from #30 to # 87: std. basic relay test.
Hope it works!
