Part of this discussion is trying to determine exactly what would be considered perfect concourse tubing. So post up a photo and I'm sure someone will be able to tell you.

OK, here is my tubing. The inside is aluminium, not paper. I thought it looks just right from the outside but now I understand it isn't correct. This is exactly the reason why I quit the restoration of my 1971 911S a long time ago. The colour of that part isn't correct, the pattern of the sound deadening material under the mats isn't right, that part is from another year, etc, etc. While being a huge car enthousiast and with a lot more knowledge of car history than many, I just don't seem the learn that 100% correct is the only way to go. If it isn't 100% correct people will not stop making comments. Such a disappointment and totally demotivating for me.

Please don't construe anything I ever say about 'correct' as being derogatory, the Eberspacher tubing is a very good match to the period pieces, and would probably have been a better product for the factory to have used than what they did. And is a better product to use now in 2017. And is a better solution that putting S4 tubes on it.

We made a set of tubes out of the eberspacher tubing for William's car, they look better than the 'correct' tubes because their ends aren't all frayed.

The race to trailer queen 100% NOS-parts polished perfection that you can't drive is a dead end. Not much point in that....

80mm. Doublecheck the OD of your air cleaner inlets, I think they're something like 76mm or so.

That's not going to happen on this forum. I know you're in Europe, but if you ever get the chance, come to Frenzy. 928s are celebrated and appreciated no matter what kind of crazy parts you put into it. As long as it's running and loved.

I use 3 inch brake duct on my cars. Fits fine. It's "high temp" and comes in many colors and styles. Not sure if any is like an OB tube, though.

Many of the P/N's for our cars start with 914

If function were the only concern, the later 16V tubes fit all the same.
We are about to find out...Mokka will be "on the grass" at upcoming: http://www.greenwichconcours.com/visitors/schedule/ If judge(s) know enough regarding the 928 and actually remove the tube(s) to inspect. Being able to distinguish to what's being seen...(glad Rob E is not judging )
