1978 Cruise Control is INOP. Advice?
Hi guys, thanks in advance.
Looking to make the treck to Spokane this summer. It will be a 2300 mile road trip. Cruise control would be a great asset.
My '78 has had a INOP cruise control since back when I took ownership in 1998. IIRC I replaced the LF fender unit for a better one from 928INTL a couple years back, but IIRC the cable was different, or hard to route.
Where do I start?
Thanks again guys.

Burning Brakes
Roger Tyson sells refurbished cruise control amplifiers. I bought two: one for each of my 928s. They work perfectly. I don't know if they'll work with a '78, but you might call Roger and ask him when he returns?

Well, it's most likely the brain box. That's what it usually is.
But make sure. There's a thorough inspection procedure in the WSM. Go through it step by step to eliminate the other potential causes before spending the money on the module.
