1988 928S4 Wheel Fitment
I recently purchased a 1988 928S4 which according to the searching I have done has:
Wheels = Front -7x16 / Rear - 8x16
Offset = Front - 65mm / Rear - 52.3mm
Tires = Front - 225/50 16 / Rear - 245/45 16
I am wondering if these wheels/tires will fit without fender modifications.
Front Wheels 18x8 et57
Rear Wheels 18x10.5 et60
Front Tires 225/40ZR18
Rear Tires 285/30ZR18
This 18" combo fit my 1985 928S with a rolling of the fenders. The 88 S4 has a bit different measurements so I wasn't sure.
Thanks in advance for your help.

fronts are good
the rear wheel size is not usually a half size its probably a 10 inch,
the tires may rub on the inside of the wheel well so spacers in the rear might be needed

As to the rears I would verify what is actually on the 88 now since it is about 30 years new, and verify how much fender clearance you actually have with what is on there. If you have the original wheels, as found in your research, and you have about an inch of clearance between the rear tires and the inner fender flange the 18 inch wheels and tires will probably fit without rubbing, because with ET60 versus ET52.3 the centerline of the wheel will be 7.7 mm inboard from the 16s, but with a 10 inch wide wheel versus 8 inch wide the outer edge of the wheel will be an inch farther out, so the difference is 17.7 mm or .7 inches. In addition, you will gain a bit of additional clearance based on the profile of the tires - - 30 versus 45 - - so that can be a factor in your favor, since the sidewall of the respective tires will protrude differently.
My analysis suggests that the 18 inch combo (at 10 inches wide for the rears, per Stan's suggestion) will likely be only about a half inch farther outboard from the 16 inchers on the car.
Any spacer you find necessary, per Stan's post, will move the wheel/tire combo that much further out, so add that the the equation.
