I'll take it. Are you going to the Hershey swap meet?

Hey guy....did this come out of your car? If so, why did you pull it out, if you don't mind? I have a short shifter in both my cars, but have not driven either with them in yet...just wondering. Thanks.

This was out of my 83 parts car. I was going to hold onto it but I like the tall stick look on the 79. Never drove this car for any appreciable distance. Looks like a nice quality part

PO put a shorty in my 79. personally I would have left the tall one in it.

Droo recently installed a short shifter in MY79. His comments: "The short shifter's rod pin positioning is superior, it makes the throw from gear to gear (forward and back motion) significantly shorter. The handle is however much too short in my opinion. Not only does it not look right, that revised pin position changes the rod geometry a little bit and makes a harder pull required and the short handle enhances this hard pull a lot. I'm pretty sure the shortness of the handle offers significantly less "short throw" action than the revised wider pin positioning does. The handle length does seem to be the only factor shortening the "side to side" throw, so we'll have original gate spacing with short fore and aft throw. I wish the manufacturer of the short shifter offered the wider pin positioning with a stock length of handle, Tony's solution is going to be a great shifter." So, what many of us would really like is a short-throw long-handle option.
