New guy with 79 project car
Greetings folks, I recently acquired a 79 in rough but running shape and was hoping to reach out for expert advice. VIN is 9289 200788 So she's a US market 777 off the line correct?

77Tony Thanks for the quick reply and extra thanks for the sticky link! It's been a while since I've used a forum! I'm working on pictures as we speak, and i'm in Phoenix AZ, the car just arrived here from northern California

LS7 is dry sump and would be tricky getting that to work, but an LS1/2/3 would. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...b-project.html If she runs good leave what's in there and just mechanically freshen her up a bit. New engine bay high pressure power steering and fuel lines are a must if not done recently. Roger at 928sRus and Mark at 928International will know and have what you'll need. Diggin the color, sunroof, and rubstrip delete and please don't add spoilers T

Oh I think she's gonna stay Porsche powered for a while, I also want to build a long travel truck now that we live in the desert and the lady friend isn't gonna let me do both haha

Great looking car. The photo on the trailer looks nice.
as everyone else said, replace rubber. Just did ball joints and found my break lines have cracks. So replacing rubber hose is a good start.
LS swap is a cool idea, but if it runs, I would enjoy the porsche power for a while. How's the inside?

rust under rear hatch window but not catastrophic

Engine compartment is her saving grace

Car was originally Opal Metallic as you can see in engine compartment, thanks to @77Tony the lady friend and I are scouring the more colorful options available, and she's actually onboard with the build now. I don't think I even need to explain how much that helps to a group of car junkies haha
