Its a gold '79, with brown headliner and 1/4 panels ...so brown/black would probly be the obvious choices...but...holy crap, that was a good deal I could have worked with.
be aware that the stresses of shipping will often increase the number and severity of existing and potential cracks...... an un-cracked pod may look great until you touch it .
My feeble memory harkens way back to a question posted by Susan @ Devek. A customer dropped of a car for work, and it sat outside long enough for the dash and pod to crack. "Who's responsible?" was the question.
I added an inexpensive "dash mat" within weeks of the beginning of my stewardship period. Added those ugly mirror bra's to it at about the same time. I don't thing either has been off more than half a dozen times in almost 20 years. I do peek under for cracks, so far none found. (knocks on vinyl... gently)
Got a dash you love, or even one you don't love? Prescription is the same but for different reasons.
SO...wheres a good writeup for stripping, sanding, filling...dash and pod. ?
Here"s an old one. Titled "pod restoration", started by ceedee with replies on (edit: multiple) processes ( including from Rob Budd and Dan the Pod Guy).
Looks like a nice solution and I actually prefer the alcantara texture to the original. How does the alcantara cover blend into the front face of the pod? Could you show a close up of that please? Cheers, John
