If it's just "small stuff" then you may not need a 928 specific mechanic. What are you looking to get done?
I wish I was only 45 minutes to an hour away from an expert like Greg. Instead it's more like 2-3 hr drive for me. Therefore I do the small stuff myself.

Didn't even buy the next 928 yet. Just doing my diligence to find a good mechanic locally first. I'm new to CA and don't have contacts here. Anyone heard of fast cars of redondo beach? They are a well regarded Ferrari Indy. They service everything but seems they specialize in Concours Vintage stuff.
I'd use them for oil changes, four wheel alignments, brakes, etc. any small failures along the way. Fuel pump etc.

When I changed jobs and bought my 87 I looked for the closest shop to my office in Newport Beach that knew 928's.
I found a small indy shop (DDK Motors 3 blocks from my office on Birch St.). I talked to him a bit, he explained he used to work on them all the time and he had some of the specialty tools (P9201 still handy) and he's ready to use them. He was a busy shop but after a few similar small jobs I felt comfortable with the shop (Don, owner). I even left a spare key for them so I could drop off early/late with a note and he'd take care of.
Had him do the TB/WP, ISV, knock sens, cam gears, other belts, hoses, pulled rad, new end caps and tabs off site at Santa Ana rad shop (I took it there) etc. He almost preferred I get the parts (mostly from 928intl, short ride up the road). He gave me decent rates on labor and I saved a bit by purchasing the parts. He turned out great.
Maybe try a similar strategy. I did a search and found a few shops close to those cities you mentioned. Can't say I have used any of them so can't recommend one. I did notice a few Porsche Dealers close to you (lol) but I actually would prefer a small shop like DDK over them.
good luck
