So... It's been happening for a while and I finally decided to do something about it... When I filled the tank up, there's always very strong gas smell in the car. I just got used to not filling her all the way up.
It turns out the gas "leak" is coming from here?
The surrounding "moat" was full of gas and as soon as I soaked some up, a bit more will sip through the top part of the cap. (Not the hose, the cap)
Am I missing a seal somewhere?

There's a gasket that goes under the lip on the top of the sender unit, so maybe yours is crumbled or missing. Part 10 in the PET
