Default Tobay Beach Autocross

Who says the rookie cant beat the experienced?Today was the last race of the season and I won .Me a 83 928 5speed beat the experienced 88 s4 (sorry Charlie) it was my goal. But ill give it to him he beat me on the smoke show take off.The track was fast , most guys hitting 3rd gear and also a great track to learn to drift to the point of a hair to heavy on the gas and you will spin.Until next season and hopefully a lot more people in the class(Wayne come back!)

Lou,

Can you send me the track layout for that one? Maybe you kept a copy. The two So Flo autocrosses that I have been to have been such short, tight courses that the 928 could barely get out of first gear. The boxster guys have been laying them out and I have an opportunity to provide some input for a future event.

Thanks,

Cameron

Cameron - You need to make some road trips up here to NW FL for next seasons's SCCA AX's. We run at an old airfield! On the longer layouts (over 1 minute) we regularly hit ~65-70 on a straight or 2!
We DO have a PCA AX here next month (same airfield - same, if not higher, speeds) Details at pca.org/son

Doug:

Go to www.metronypca.org and click on the activities bar and then autocross. All the rules, photo's of past events etc. are there. I suppose you are not a PCA member as you would have received the regions magazine. I suggest joining and that goes for anyone owning a porsche. There is a meeting tommorrow night at Koenig's restaurant in Floral Park if you can make it.

Thumbs up 928 Camp

Doug,

Lou, Dave, and I, hang out at my place or out fairly frequently...especially when Eric D. visits from Maryland. Eric is coming up this weekend, so another mini-Frenzy might be in the works. I have a couple of 928 project cars and a messy garage with parts and too many simultaneous projects that keep everyone busy...(but mostly hanging out and just talking)... My place in Patchogue is the default hangout...serves as campgrounds, as Eric noted before...because the house is in a state of slowwww remodeling. So you've been warned. Eric is not bringing his supercharged car this time, so it's a chance to treat him like an outsider....hehe. I'm expecting a GTS engine this weekend too. Again, never a dull moment or lack of 928 content. We'd love to meet you... the more the merrier on our impromptu gatherings/camps. We should get Gerry over too...Gerry are you listening? This weekend...stop by, or let's agree on a time to get together for dinner/drinks. Same goes for you Charlie, of course. Anyone else I'm missing? Ernest wanna come out to Long Island? Have a place for you to stay... bring a sleeping bag

My chance to thank those guys for making these casual gatherings a lot of fun!! Imagine how more fun it would be when the house is finished and wet bar & big screen TV installed !!!

Oh did I mention that membership of this group requires you to complete at least 2 home improvement tasks on my house or 3 Porsche tasks on my cars? just kidding... but you know what, these guys have been helping me out anyway! So if you wanna fit in, grab a beer with one hand, and a tool with the other...gotcha again
