Default Eibach & Koni for sale

SOLD

I have a nearly new set of Eibach springs and Koni shocks (F & R) for sale. I installed these on my '94 GTS about 6 months (2-3K miles) before I sold it. The new owner decided he wanted the car suspension fully stock, so bought new Porsche springs and shocks. He was very considerate and returned the nearly new 'upgrade' suspension parts to me.

So - for sale at about 65% of new cost. $500 for the complete set. Send me an e-mail via Rennlist, as I do not check this site as frequently as I used to.

I'm sure 'someone' is ready to do the full ride/handling upgrade at a bargain price.

Cheers,

Gary Knox

Tentatively sold. I'll remove this post and 'bump' this thread if the sale does not materialize.

I'm sure the buyer will like them as much as I did!!

Just curious how the Koni shocks compare to the Bilsteins?

I've been looking at Konis but the thought of removing the old threaded collars or sleeves off my factory Boges terrifies me.

You will have to get them off for new Boges as well. I've never had a problem getting the threaded collars off. I've used presses and I've used a vice. Just don't plan to reuse the shock after you take the threaded collar off.

Randy,
I asked several folk who had both Koni and Bilstein. I also asked folk who had all three: Boge, Koni and Bilstein. Every one of the people I asked said that the Bilstein was the harshest ride. I chose the Konis because they are adjustable. On the Stepson and my 89, I ran the shock to a midway adjustment on rebound. I have stock springs on both. It's a firmer ride. On the GTS, I have Eibachs and I left the shock set as it comes from the factory: full soft. It's soft normally but firm when I get to the progressive part of the spring.

Eibach is the coil, and Bilstein is the shock?

I'm looking for a sportier feel on the GTS to compliment its new extra power, so am considering Bilstein shocks.

Yes, Eibach is the spring. Bilstein/Koni/Boge is the shock.

Also note that Eibach springs lower the car about an inch.

Randy,
A lot of folk do not like the lowering effect of the Eibach springs.
A lot of folk do not like the progressive spring characteristics of the Eibach springs.
I do.

I've got Eibach springs, Koni Reds, on my 89. It's firm, but not harsh. I like the way the car handles.

This is a great set up.

Have you had the opportunity to compare the ride of a Koni car versus a Bilstein car?
