Default CV Joints, previous mechanics and missing ball bearings!

In all my years of rebuilding CV joints this is the first time I have ever seen this.

Ball bearings at 11 and 4 o'clock are MIA!

That would overtake "Please Delete" post count in a month or two.

Good News on my low-miles-when-purchased car is that there weren't too many opportunities for hacks to happen. It had full dealer service history, but that's not a guarantee that things were done right.

Isn't that any thread that describes work by the PO or PT (i.e. about a third )

Oh, you mean a sticky thread. As long as it follows "random picture" rules(*) to keep it from getting boring.

(*) Every post must have a picture of d!p$h!+ PO or PT move. Pictureless posts nuked.

On the theme of Porsche over-engineering, I must ask: did you know anything was amiss before taking it apart?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ? ? ?

Possibly the "mechanic" assembled it backwards so that it locked. Then left out 2 so that it would move ? ? ?

It is difficult to understand stupidity . . . . .
