The black beater turned 150,000.0 during the opening leg of the Sharktoberfest Fun Tour last month. A pretty good way to celebrate the milestone (even though I suspect the milage is in the 170 range based on the PO's daily commute distance and the odo being dead for a year during his ownership). I thought about snapping a birthday digipic, but I was busy on the westbound 91 freeway leading a school of snarling sharks. Man, these cars look mean when coming up behind.

I had thought/hoped the milestone would come up somewhere in deep in the Albuquerque desert on my x-country drive east to attend Frenzy VII...but things don't always pan out like you imagine. Bugger!

Now...where is that legendary east coaster with the 400K and 600K cars I keep hearing about?

Hey youse guys, you stole my topic!!!!

The point was that the guy could have replaced his timing belt for less than the cost of the new tires.

But Ernest you can not easily SEE the timing belt !! From your years with the medical practice you know how easy it is for people to be in denial and try to avoid "bad news" .. It is also possible that the owner did follow recommended t-belt changes and for one reason or another it failed early . SO how many miles on your GT ?

Jim,
Sorta like the guy with the hatchet sticking out of his head complaining about his sore knee.
62K miles on the car and it's STILL going strong!

151,000. The last K is mine. I can't wait for the day I can say I have driven most of the miles on the car. That's a lot of premium fuel my friends.
