Thank you Jim, that is always good to know. I will call the Porsche dealership today to see if they can provide what levels of zddp, phosphor and moly would be required at a minimum for our engines.

Wow, don't recall seeing that the first time around. Very interesting.

I was more or less thinking a typical parts guy will recommended what they have to offer.

However, some 911's have more displacement per cylinder than the 16V's and close to the 5.0. They also have to dissipate more heat since they are technically oil and air cooled. In the early days of synthetic motor oil, the air cooled crowed was slow to adopt due to heat dissipation issues. I still know some air cooled guru's that will never chance one of their engines with synthetic.

Friend of mine has a box of blue lifters from a high output VW engine he blames synthetic for.

Yesterday I spoke to my closest Porsche dealership "Mark Motors", first to service, and guess what they recommend , their oil ! lol No shock there.
Then I tried to get some information about minimum levels of zddp, phosphor and moly, and they could not even help me ! Someone at porsche knows this I am sure, but since I don't have the correct connection i will never know !
