Default Special tools.

Please explain the different uses of the two special tools (9201) and (9131) used in belt tensioning on Porsche 928 S4 1989 model. Do they serve the same purpose? I have WSM instructions where both tools are mentioned, one for belt tightning and one for belt replacement.

Same general purpose (to assess TB tension), though one is more qualitative and one is more quantitative. The aftermarket version of the 9131 is the Kempf tool, which is fine for checking TB tension.

Thanks a million. The Kempf tool appears to be an easier tool to use so that's the one I will buy.
