Default "rattling" rpm dependent sound ???

Hi!

There´s a "rattling" sound that´s like a wire not fully inserted in a speedometer, a ventilation fan that lost it´s bearings or something like that comming from the glove compartment ???. Of cours it´s not comming from there but sounds like it, it´s rev dependent and i can feel it in the gear shifter. It could also be a bad lifter but i cant here it from the enginebay and two mech´s has testdriven the car whitout beeing able to say what it is ????, anyone heard of it ??

It´s a S-Euro -83, autotranny.

/Best, Per

Cool rattle

For the past couple of weeks, I have detected a similar irritating noise. I finally realized that my tire pressure was too low, but that only lessened the noise. It sounded like it was in the glove box but wasn't in there. Then tonight I removed the plastic tray that covers the space between the engine compartment bulkhead and the windshield bulkhead, where the heater blower is located. The sound was gone, or seems to be. I concluded that the tray was vibrating against either the blower housing or the sheet metal of the body where the wipers are located. All the way home I didn't hear it.
