Blue Dog ; the 85 and first 1,000 of the 1986 the exhaust is welded together and you have only one small resonater and your final muffler .....the 86 1/2 (next few thousand 928s) are true dual exhaust with two large resonaters and a final muffler which clamp together . So since your car requires cutting and welding you simply have them weld on two 3 inch pipes in place of your final muffler . IT however MAY be too loud for your taste due to the small single resonater .
