Help routing wires to trunk
Hey everyone,
In the last phase of my car stereo installation project, and I'm stalled on running cables to the rear hatch. I need to run an RCA cable and a remote on lead from under the passenger seat area to the spare tire area of the hatch. I also need to run a cable from the hatch down the drivers side to the controls on the drivers side along the door, where I plan to mount the sub volume **** (I think I'll remove the fader control and replace with the bass ****). Anyhow, any suggestions or tips in running wires to/from these places in the car?

Under the carpet there are stock tabs that hold down the factory wiring harnesses that run along the inside edge of the thresholds.
They are on both sides of the interior and even go under the quarter panels into the hatch to allow a stealthy install
I use them to hold down my stereo wiring (a lot of it)

Here's what I did when I ran the RCA cable from the main unit to an after market rear sub (spare wheel location).
1) Removed the passenger side console side (carpet) panel. Removed the passenger side floor mats. Front and back.
2) Pull out the head unit.
3) Plug the RCA cables and the remote power cable (10 feet was good for me)
4) Then run the cables to the back.
- Run the cables from the head unit to the passenger side floor under the carpet on the tunnel right to the front of the passenger seat.
- Run the cables in front of the passenger seat. Secure everything in place with the stock attachments or ty wraps.
- Then on the right side of the seat (where the stock amp is).
- Then under the carpet up to the passenger side back seat.
- Then squeeze the cables between the seat itself and the car.
- Take the cables out between the bottom and top seat sections.
This is quite easy to do and nothing shows.
Hope it helped a bit and Happy New Year!
