For the pod switches, I like the Autolumination "Super High Power 1 Watt Super-Charged LED Bulb" best. No filing needed, but one or two wraps of masking tape (you can see the blue painter's tape in the second photo below) around the barrel helps keep it from popping out. Match the colors as appropriate.
I just replaced the green headlight one a few months ago, after it died after about 5 years of service. Probably because it's on all the time, and there's not much room inside the switch for heat dissipation. It might be a good idea to get a spare for that one in case they stop making these. I'll probably order a bunch of spares sometime, just in case, as I've tried a few other LED models for this application and didn't like them as much.

I am not a big led fan when it comes to older cars but I do like the safety benefits of being seen. I bought some leds from super bright LEDs for parking lights. They don't offer "warm white" so this is the lowest # I could get. Does anyone know where I can buy these bulbs in a warmer color?
One new one old
Both led's installed.
The difference in color between halogens and leds is not pleasing.

So instead of ordering colored 74 led lights I painted mine with acrylic paint using a q tip. I think they came out good. More color and less bright. On the trip odometer I painted the outward facing diode black because otherwise as Ed states in his PDF, it is too bright. The two side diodes put out plenty even when placed snug in the socket.
Next up I have to pull the pod to do instrument cluster lights.

I have LED's on my OB - pod lights, under dash and in the custom headliner we built.
In process of engine R&R, so no power / pics, but if you look at my "Carli" photo album, you'll kinda see what we with the headliner, creating recesses on side margins and installing a BMW light cluster ovee the console.
Will post pics when I'm done with current project, just a couple days away.
Those LED switch lights pictured above are friggin awesome. Gotta have them!

Photo comes out more blue than reality but you get the general idea, in the case of my pod the light tubes (they're not really prisms) had lost most of their silver coating and the light was leaking out. I've seen guys sticking foil to them as an alternative.
Agree that electrical issues should be sorted as a low voltage across the bulbs indicates resistance somewhere which means heat.

For the prism light..does the pod have to come all the way out? Curious what the time investment to install should be..
They look great.
Nevermind..saw that the whole thing has to come apart/out it looks like...my lights at night are good enough...I'll wait till I need it...I don't want to start yanking connections loose...kind of afraid they won't go back together very well again.

I recently used these LEDs for the door clearance lights: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ar-bulbs/6/56/
And, these for the courtesy lights: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...car/2038/4686/
I wouldn't recommend the courtesy light choice, as I had to trim part of the PCB to make room in the Porsche light housing.

I got one of these for my odo reset...fit was perfect with no modifications!
I tried several for the pod switches. After dremeling, filing, sanding etc. I came across these at Superbright LEDs they go into the socket deep enough and don't pop out. I did take a piece of sandpaper to each edge, at the base, just to know off the sharpness and they fit perfectly.

I guess it is pretty bright, but it's currently blocked by my arm when driving, possibly because I routed that switch where the fog light switch should be (Doh....). The one that's bugging me is the hazard switch...very bright red, keeps startling me lol. I need to pull it and take a look, but I think MAYBE I put the resistor in just one of the black/blue wires, rather than running both through it. There are a number of things I need to take care of that I botched in my pod rework...

Exactly, so I left the incandescent bulb in that one.
